Our pastor got me thinking this morning. He read us Palms 78:70-72
70“He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; 71from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance.
72With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them them with his skillful hand.”
Then he pointed out some basic word in this passage: Chose- to pick, Servant- to be a slave, Shepherd-to lead, Guided- to teach.
He choses us. He picks us for a job. Sometimes we don’t know what that job is and sometimes it seem impossible for us to complete certain jobs. But remember He CHOSE you!!!
Being His servant can seem difficult but we need to show not just for ourselves but to others how faithfully we will serve Him. The Lord will take us out of our comfort zones so we can prove that we will faithfully serve Him. How else can we be a testimony to Him. Which helps us to lead others to know Christ.
How many times are we just to busy? How many people have you walked right by without talking to them about Christ? 10, 20, 100, 500??? Don’t feel bad we all do it. Life gets crazy, we have a million things to do, maybe tomorrow.
But think about this: if we keep passing these people, are we really doing our job?? Didn’t He chose you for this job?
