As most families are just beginning their school year, we are on the tail end of ours. Our school year actually starts in January and ends in October. And recently with all the medical issues we have been dealing with and the traveling back and forth to doctors offices, when we haven’t had an appointment those precious days were filled with quality family time.
There have been times lately where I have questioned our decision on homeschooling. There have been days when I have sat here knowing that we should be doing school but honestly my brain really couldn’t get around the mess our life had become.
And then today, even though it was a slow start I was reminded that we homeschool because the Lord wanted us to. I don’t know what the end result will look like but I do know that we have been called to homeschool and I know that the Lord has great things in store for our family. As we read in our QT this morning, I was reminded that the Lord is our shield and even thought we are going through some difficult situations He has protected us from stuff that we have no idea is trying to attack us. I am thankful that our Lord is my Shield, My Protector and is helping us to proceed on the path that He choose for us. Then while doing science(Exploring Creation with Astronomy: Apologia) we were reminded that He protects the Earth with an atmosphere so that we are not destroyed or hurt by asteroids. How amazing is that, He is protecting us even when we are unaware of what is going on even in space. Then while doing spelling (A Reason for Spelling) our memory verse is :
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5
So once again I was reminded that He is my God and I need for Him to teach me, and to guide me in His ways.
So as I look through our books, so that we can be ready for our evaluations for this year, I am reminded that the Lord has taught us many things, and even thought there might not be as many worksheets and not as many test completed. The lessons that we have learned triumphs them.
Are you still on track with school? What happens when you get off track? Where are you in your school year?
Wishing you many Blessings
